Mobile telephony penetration in Spanish households continues its upward trend. In 2011 mobile phones were available in 95.1% of Spanish households, according to the results of the Survey on the Equipment and Use of Information and Communication Technologies in households, published by the INE and referring to 2011.
The percentage of households with mobile phone (95.1%) is higher than of those with fixed telephone (80.6%), which confirms the trend observed in 2006. Furthermore, 18.9% of Spanish households solely and exclusively have mobile telephone, and 76.2% of them have both mobile and fixed telephone.

Observaciones

Study based on telephone and personal interviews. The theoretical sample size comprises 24,972 houses and 3,922 reserves. Therefore 28,894 houses have been visited. One person aged 15 years old or over is selected from each house; likewise, information is obtained on all children aged 10 to 15 years old residing in the family home. For 2002 and 2003, data refers to Spanish population aged 15 or over. From 2003 onwards, data refers to Spanish population aged 16-74.
