Analysis

In the last study period, 32% of the European population contacted the public administration via the Internet, 2 percentage points more than in the previous year. Northern European countries like Denmark, Ireland and Sweden lead the ranking in the EU-27 with the highest percentages. Spain shows a marked upward trend, going from 25% in 2006 to 32% in 2010.

Data provided to Eurostat by the competent authorities of the Member States (Eurostat: Statistical Office of the European Communities responsible for providing the European Union with statistical information at European level and promoting the harmonisation of statistical methods across the Member States). 
The sample is composed of individuals between the ages of 16 and 74 years.
