Households with broadband access out of the total households

The percentage of households that connect to the Internet by means of broadband continues growing. The percentage of households with broadband Internet access was in 2011 61.9%, which means 4.5 percentage points more than in 2010, according to the results of the Survey on the Equipment and Use of Information and Communication Technologies in households, published by the INE.

Observaciones

Study based on telephone and personal interviews. The theoretical sample size comprises 24,972 houses and 3,922 reserves. Therefore 28,894 houses have been visited. One person aged 15 years old or over is selected from each house; likewise, information is obtained on all children aged 10 to 15 years old residing in the family home.

For 2002 and 2003, data refers to Spanish population aged 15 or over. From 2003 onwards, data refers to Spanish population aged 16-74. It corresponds to the eEurope 2005 Action Plan policy indicator J.3, which is also included in i2010 Action Plan.
